Senior Accountant

We are seeking a Senor accountant to oversee all areas of finance of the Bavaria site of our prestigious pharma Client. This role is integral to supporting business operations and teams, managing cash flow, and collaborating with external bookkeeper for financial reporting. The ideal candidate is ready to perform transactional tasks in the short term but would enjoy supporting SAP implementation and other improvement projects that will enable a high level of accounting automation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, banks, external bookkeeper, and auditors.
  • Produce annual budget, in-year reforecasts, and monthly management reporting.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliation.
  • Process and payment of purchase invoices with proper approval.
  • Handle verification, reconciliation, and processing of company credit card and employee expenses.
  • Reconcile sales, purchase, and nominal ledger accounts.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and capital expenditure data.
  • Review monthly payroll process and maintain headcount data.
  • Monitor intercompany transactions for monthly reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly stock valuation, Intrastat data, EC sales, VAT returns, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Support SAP implementation and accounting-related process improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Controlling, or Finance or relevant accounting qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or controlling.
  • German language skills are advantageous.
  • Understanding of German accounting is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and prioritising skills.
