IT Support Specialist

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to enhance our current IT infrastructure, applications, and communications. The role involves onsite support for a small site and may extend to other sites in the region as needed. The ideal candidate will be the face of IT for the supported sites, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and collaborating with various teams to resolve issues and implement future enhancements.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Handle IT support tickets and provide desktop support.
  • Maintain WAN, LAN, telecom, servers, storage, and network infrastructure including switches and routers.
  • Support desktop deployment, virtualisation, and conduct security updates and patching.
  • Update and support local applications such as barcoding, MES, LIMS, or other systems.
  • Act as the single point of contact for data protection officers and works councils for all IT-related topics.
  • Manage the specification, procurement, and replacement of IT equipment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Desktop/Network support work experience.
  • Excellent German language skills and good English language proficiency.
  • Experience with Windows desktop and server environments, Active Directory and virtualisation
  • Knowledge of communications systems: LAN, WAN, PBX systems, Mobile and MS-Teams.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with effective change management abilities.
  • Self-starter with initiative and a hands-on approach.
  • Desire to learn systems and improve processes.
