Technical Expert | Electroplating & Surface Finishing
Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Specialist to join their growing team in Germany.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong professional with a background in electroplating, galvanic processes, surface finishing, or industrial chemistry who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while working closely with customers.
In this role, you will serve as the primary technical expert for customers in Southern Germany, supporting process implementation, application development, troubleshooting, and business growth. You will work closely with sales and account management teams while helping customers optimize their processes and achieve the best possible performance from advanced surface-finishing technologies.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing hands-on technical support to customers across Southern Germany
- Supporting process implementation, new line start-ups, and production optimization
- Troubleshooting electroplating and surface-finishing processes
- Acting as the key technical contact for both existing customers and new prospects
- Collaborating with Sales and Account Managers to identify and develop business opportunities
- Supporting the growth of the product portfolio through technical expertise and application knowledge
- Delivering on-site and remote technical guidance and training
- Monitoring market developments, industry trends, and emerging technologies
- Evaluating customer requirements and identifying future business opportunities
- Building long-term relationships with customers through high-quality technical support
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Degree or technical qualification in Chemistry, Electroplating, Materials Science, Surface Engineering, or a related discipline
- Fluent German and good English language skills
- At least 5 years of experience within the electroplating, galvanic treatment, or surface-finishing industry
- Strong knowledge of electroplating chemistry and related chemical processes
- Proven experience providing technical support to customers within industrial or manufacturing environments
- Hands-on experience with electroplating processes and treatment lines
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness to travel across Germany to support customers
Highly Desirable
- Experience with anti-corrosion zinc and zinc-alloy finishing technologies
- Customer-facing technical support or technical sales support experience
- Knowledge of process optimization and application development
- Experience supporting large industrial customers within manufacturing environments
