Our client, a global leader in premium materials and specialty solutions, is seeking an accomplished Area Sales Manager to lead commercial strategy and business development across DACH region.

This is a senior leadership position for an individual who thrives in a strategic, fast-paced B2B environment, combining hands-on commercial execution with broader regional leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Own the regional commercial performance, delivering strong revenue, margin, and market growth results.
  • Translate global and regional commercial priorities into a clear go-to-market strategy, tailored to local market dynamics.
  • Lead pricing strategy implementation, margin optimization, structured negotiations, and disciplined commercial governance.
  • Ensure compliance with credit and risk management policies, safeguarding portfolio health.

Sales Growth & Market Development

  • Drive expansion across the region by increasing market penetration, enhancing share of wallet, and unlocking multi-category opportunities.
  • Identify and lead strategic business development initiatives, including new segments, new customers, and high-potential verticals.
  • Act as a senior-level commercial ambassador to major accounts, building trusted partnerships and securing long-term business.

Innovation & Cross-Functional Project Leadership

  • Champion specialty product development and customer-centric innovation initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional commercial projects, ensuring alignment across sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, and support functions.

Key Account Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key customers, ensuring exceptional service levels and value creation.
  • Represent regional customer insights in internal steering forums to influence strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for key customers, ensuring best‑in‑class service and solution delivery.

 

Experience & Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years in senior commercial or sales leadership roles, ideally in structured, multinational B2B environments.
  • Proven ability to deliver strong sales and margin results through strategic account management and commercial rigor.
  • Experience in industries such as packaging, printing, labels, or B2B sectors supplying end‑consumer industries (e.g., wine, cosmetics, personal care, household, food).

           Native-level German and fluent English; Spanish or Italian is a plus.
