The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental functions.
This role will ensure compliance with internal standards, customer expectations, and legal regulations while maintaining a safe and high-performing work environment. You will oversee management systems, lead the Quality team, and drive a strong culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and continuously improve QHSE management systems, including audits and document control
- Lead Quality Control and assurance activities, ensuring alignment with global standards
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g. REACH, ISO, GMP) and manage audits, permits, reporting, complaints, and waste
- Promote a strong safety culture in line with SEVESO requirements, including risk management, incident investigation, and emergency planning
- Drive root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, R&D, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams
- Monitor and report QHSE KPIs, trends, and improvement initiatives
- Manage customer complaints and support high levels of customer satisfaction
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, training, and incident reduction)
Candidate Profile
- Detail-oriented with high standards of accuracy and discipline
- Analytical and data-driven, with strong problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
Requirements
Essential:
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- ~7+ years’ QHSE experience in a high-risk or SEVESO/COMAH environment
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and tools such as FMEA, risk assessments, and 8D
- Expertise in German regulatory frameworks, DIN standards, and chemical compliance
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), plus environmental or process safety training (e.g. IEMA, HAZOP, ATEX)
- Experience with SAP S4/HANA, Power BI, and MS Office
- Certified ISO Lead/Internal Auditor
- Fluency in German and English
